Enjoy Hints on WSO2 Stream Processor Studio

Have you ever visited a website or a web application, where you don’t have any idea of how to start to using it because it’s your first time there? However, I know some users won’t read the documentation or see a video because there is no time for that, they just want to use the application! We all like to get a little help when we trying a web application for the first time.

I was never a fan of guided website tours, Until I was asked to develop a Guided tour for the WSO2 Stream processor studio as the first project of my internship. During the developing process I learned that having a guided tour in a web application is very helpful for the new users.

Taking part in the wso2 stream processor guided tour is the easiest way to explore the basic functionality of the application for those who are absolute beginners. You don’t have to fill the configuration forms, search for buttons or even to type on the text editor. The guide will do that for you! All you need to do is follow the instructions and click some buttons.

So how did I do it?

The library which I have used to implement the website guide is called “Enjoy Hint JS”. Enjoy Hint is a free web-tool that is created to guide users through a site or an app in the simplest way. My main goal was to help a user in finding his way through the basic features of the stream processor studio. As I said earlier it is pretty useful since the web application is filled with tons of elements.

Relax and click “Next”

Most of the time you will only need to click on “Next” because the guide it self auto fills the input fields and highlight the areas which need to be clicked.

Apart from the Design View where you just need to drag and drop some elements and connect them using nodes.

However you will need to wait for the next release to try this out. So wait and try it out!
